Features.

Everything you need to keep your series straight.

Nib Track reads the books you’ve already written and turns them into a series bible you can search, follow and plan from. Whether you’re starting the next book, revising the last one or checking a detail mid-chapter, every feature is designed to keep you in the story instead of digging back through old manuscripts.

Add Your Books
Your books are the setup.

You don’t need to retype anything or move your writing into a new editor. Add the Word manuscripts you already have, one book or a whole series, and Nib Track finds the chapters on its own.

Keep writing in Word as you always have. Each time you save, Nib Track re-reads the book a moment later, so your series bible stays up to date without any extra work.

Nib Track supports:

  • Microsoft Word (.docx)

  • PDFs with text

Search the Whole Series
Every mention, in every book.

Type a name, place or phrase and see every mention across the series, book by book and chapter by chapter, with the passage around it.

Nib Track also spots near-matches in your books, such as “Reza” and “Riza,” so spelling drift doesn’t slip through.

Look It Up Without Touching the Book
Check a detail without risking your manuscript.

Confirming a name or a date shouldn’t mean scrolling through the book itself. In Nib Track you search, read and jump between chapters across the whole series without your manuscript open, so a stray keystroke never lands in Chapter 6 while you’re checking something.

When you’re ready to make a change, Open in Word takes you straight to the passage with the optional Word Helper, or opens the book with the passage ready to find.

A Series Bible in One Click
Save a character the moment you find them.

Save any search as an entry for a character, place, location, organization or anything else in your story. Add nicknames, ranks and other names, and every mention counts toward the same entry.

Each entry page shows where the entry appears in each book, its first and last appearance, a picture, facts that change over the story, links to other characters, and your own notes.

See the Whole Story
Your series at a glance.

The Overview shows every character in one table. The Manuscript Map shows each character across every chapter of every book, so you can see at a glance who’s been on the page and who’s gone quiet.

Threads and the Story Grid
Follow every storyline from set-up to resolution.

Create a thread for a storyline by its key words, and Nib Track follows it through your books, from where it’s set up to where it’s resolved.

The Story Grid lays out your plot threads and planned beats chapter by chapter, filled in from the books. Drag a beat to move when it’s due.

Timeline
When everything happens.

The Timeline brings together the scene dates found in your books with your own events, threads and facts, chapter by chapter.

Jump to any date, narrow the view to one character or thread, and open any chapter in Word.

Outline the Next Book
Plan what comes next.

Outline the book you’re planning, or import an outline you’ve already written in Word. Mark each chapter Drafting, Revising or Done as you go.

Each chapter’s card gathers the notes and research that belong to it, by the threads, names and chapter they mention, so your planning notes are right there when you sit down to write it.

When it’s time to share, export your updated outline as a Word document or PDF.

Plan Your Beats
Know what needs to happen, and when.

Plan beats for characters and threads, due by a chapter, with reminders in Nib Track as that chapter gets close. Each beat shows on its chapter in the Outline and on the Timeline.

Before you write a chapter, check what’s true at that point in the story, including rank, age, injuries and who knows what, and run through a continuity checklist.

Warnings
Catch it before a reader does.

Warnings checks your books against what you’ve told Nib Track: characters who’ve gone quiet, threads left open, names used before their introduction, possible misspellings, names that no longer appear, ranks and titles that don’t match your notes, and beats that are past due.

Warnings never judges the writing. If something is on purpose, mark it Intentional and it stays out of your way.

Share and Print
Take your series bible with you.

Create a one-page Book Snapshot that sums up a book, or export your whole series bible as a Word document or PDF.
